Job Summary

The Sr. Supervisor - Cost Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate calculation and reporting of cost data, in addition to providing financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, and reporting of respective products and services of SCC.

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implements and ensures adherence to Finance and Accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Works with operations and production managers to analyze and recover cost accounting work.
  • Reviews the standard costs of new products introduced by Saudi Ceramics and ensures it has been properly established. 
  • Oversees the identification and preparation of cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.
  • Ensures timely generation of cost of production related reports based on received work orders. 
  • Manages the preparation of work in progress (WIP) summary reports. 
  • Conducts cost analysis process and provides trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions. 
  • Initiates actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials. 
  • Prepares special costing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 
  • Manages the development of best practices for the costing function in coordination with Accounting Manager. 
  • Manages monthly review of accuracy in allocation of cost to the respective cost center, products, and services. 
  • Supervises detailed study and reporting of company cost efficiencies and supervises and monitors cost accounting related modules. 
  • Monitors collection and follow up of financial and non-financial information with other departments. 
  • Directs the preparation of job costing reports and analysis for contribution margin and gross profit evaluation. 
  • Ensures appropriate Identification of activities and cost drivers to the product and services. 
  • Introduces procedures and strengthens internal controls over gathering and capturing information. 
  • Manages provision of regular and ad hoc costing reports for various departments and entities across SCC. 
  • Perform other relative tasks might be requested by his line manager.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance or Accounting

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in the field of Cost Accounting within similar industry.
  • Proficiency of English language is required.
